So I'm living in Atlanta now, working on my M.A. and really enjoying myself. It is certainly busy, I find myself reading at all hours of the day and night. Like, last night I was finishing up an article on Philodemus' therapeutics only to have a footnote catch my eye and consequently spend the next hour and a half digging through Cicero's De Finibus and pondering alternative interpretations. I suppose that's when you know you've really found something you enjoy.
On a side note, I'm preparing to write a paper defending, or at best salvaging, Robert Wolff's semi-recent book (is 10 years old semi-recent?) "In Defense of Anarchism," specifically his strong a priori position outlined in the beginning before he, unknowingly I think, slips to defending the weaker a posteriori position. Any comments would be helpful, and/or links to any of Rousseau's work on maintaining an agent's autonomy while existing and taking part in a democracy.
